No animal has such a huge bias against left-handedness. Why human beings? It is believed to have something to do with language. For most people, the language appears on the left side of the brain, specifically in Broca's area. This is where not only develop ideas but that we shape in a form of communication that others can understand. From the left brain to the right side of the body is controlled, and the prevalence of skilled individuals is a visible sign of the domination of the left cerebral hemisphere. However, it has now been discovered that, in some people, language skills arise from the right side of the brain. These people are then handed. In addition, those who have a family history of high rates of left-handers also have stronger language on the right side of the brain, suggesting that as a species we became lefties and righties when we begin to develop language.
