Typically, a child begins to show handedness between 3 and 5 years, ie, from the time you are required to perform tasks as picking up a pencil or spoon.
There are three possible reasons why a person becomes manifest as left-handed. The first, and most common, is the genetic cause, which determines from the cradle we want more impetus use primarily one of our sides. "The gene is recessive, so it is not something that is transmitted with certainty from parents to children, even often skip generations," explains the creator of the Zurdoteca. The second cause may be due to environmental influence. "Commonly lefties forced to stop being" he says.
Finally, the third cause is due to a disease, trauma or neurological accident for which "a person of birth is not lefty is unable to use his right side and habituated achieving mastery of his left hand," he concludes.
