According to a study published by the scientific journal eLife, and after ten years of research, it was concluded that genetics is not everything in deciding whether our child will be left-handed or right-handed.
This is due to factors such as the clustering of enzymes, DNA interaction and yes, as in everything, to the feeding of the fetus; but, in addition to this, the determining factor is that of the hemispheres of the brain, since, if the dominant is the left, the signals sent will fall on the right side, and vice versa; thus determining what hand our little one will handle.
Previously it was believed that genetics determined everything, and although it does have, and much, what to see, the reality is that there are other factors like the aforementioned that define what our favorite limb.
It should be noted that 15% 25 of the population is left-handed, and only 1% 25 is ambidextrous. Currently, there are several studies to determine, beginning at week 11, whether the baby will be right-handed or left-handed.
Amazing, is not it?
