PEDAGOGICAL NOTES 1

07/11/2018

One of the conflicts that left-handed people face is the learning of writing, probably the hardest stage, because of the double effort, or because of the lack of information from adults.
Throughout 4 articles we will write the writing for lefties accompanied by techniques to make this stage lighter for left-handed children.

We hope you find them very useful.

The writing, although done with the hands, is regulated by the brain, being able to locate the areas that govern it in any of the hemispheres in which it is divided. Most people write with their right hand, this activity being located in the left cerebral hemisphere, however, there is a percentage of the population - approximately 10% - that they use spontaneously to write their left hand, they are called lefties
We define the left-handed person as the subject who preferably uses the left part of his body in automatic or precise activities. The child is born left-handed as a result of a lateralized brain organization that nothing, or anyone, can change. Because of this the left-hand can not be, nor should be eliminated, we must adapt to it, and not fight against it to help the child to adapt to a world made by and for right-handers, taking into account that the functional predominance on one side of the body is determined, not by education, but by the supremacy of one cerebral hemisphere over another.
Being left-handed is a disadvantage in a world that, whether we like it or not, the population is mostly right-handed. Left-handed children are socially accepted but marginalized in some ways. For the left-handed child everything is difficult in both planes: practical and psychological.
