On August 13, 1976, International Left-Handed Day was celebrated for the first time to raise awareness in society about the difficulties they face and try to solve them. Since then, 10-13% of society (that is the estimate of left-handed people), has more visibility. But there is still much to move forward. In fact, it is estimated that in reality 25% of people are born left-handed but end up being skilled by cultural pressure, among other things.
Lefties have been in history for a long time, having to repress themselves. Therefore, it is not something that can be corrected in society from one day to another. A Twitter user named Emanuel has decided, in a humorous way, to echo the daily problems they face:
Simple things like writing in a notebook, opening a can or sitting in the typical folding table chair are not adapted for left-handed people. The tweet, which has achieved more than 3,500 retuits and 5,000 likes, has received empathy responses and some have added other problems: "Add scissors, knives, screw caps, locks, book covers for mobile, do a theoretical exam fencing, do a practical fencing exam with a right hand as a opponent ... ", says '@pancartera'.
